Privacy Policy for Remynders

Remynders is a reminder app that plays back reasons you have saved for yourself: typed notes, voice recordings and photos, shortly before the moments you have planned.

This policy explains what happens to that material. The short version: it stays on your phone.

What stays on your device

Everything you create in Remynders is stored only in the app's private storage on your phone:

• your categories and their names
• every "why" you save: typed text, voice recordings and photos
• your events and reminder times
• your name and profile picture

None of it is uploaded to us. We have no account system, no server-side copy of your vault, and no way to read what you have written, recorded or photographed.

What is sent off your device

To deliver reminders on time even when your phone has put the app to sleep, Remynders sends the following to a server we operate on Cloudflare:

• A push notification token. This is an anonymous identifier issued by Google and Expo that lets a notification reach your specific device. It is not your name, email, phone number or advertising ID.
• Reminder timings. For each upcoming reminder, a randomly generated event identifier (for example evt_1785946528838_607405) and the time it is due.

That is the complete list. The event identifier is a random string with no meaning outside your phone: it does not contain the event's title, its category, or anything you wrote.

When a reminder is due, our server sends an empty wake-up signal to your device through Expo's push service and Google's Firebase Cloud Messaging. That signal carries no reminder content. Your phone then builds the notification locally, reading your why from its own storage. This is why your words, recordings and photos never travel: the server knows when to nudge your phone, never what the nudge is about.

These companies handle that delivery on our behalf: Cloudflare (our server), Expo (push delivery) and Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging, part of Android).

Your Android backup

Android automatically backs up app data to your own Google account, and Remynders does not opt out of this. That backup belongs to you, is tied to your Google account, and is encrypted using your device passcode. We cannot access it. You can turn it off in your phone's settings under Google > Backup.

Files you export

"Save your information" in the Profile tab creates a single file containing your whole vault, including your photos and voice recordings. That file is yours. Where it goes, your Drive, a message to yourself, a cable to a computer, is entirely your choice, and it never passes through us.

Feedback you send

If you use "Send feedback or report a bug", Remynders opens a draft email in your own mail app addressed to us. Nothing is sent until you press send, and you can see and edit everything in the draft first. The draft includes the app version, your phone model and your Android version, so we can reproduce problems. It contains nothing from your vault.

Permissions, and why each one exists

• Notifications — to show reminders. Without this the app cannot work.
• Alarms and reminders — to deliver them at the exact minute rather than whenever your phone next wakes up.
• Microphone — only while you are recording a voice why. Recordings are saved to the app's private storage.
• Photos — only when you choose a picture to save as a why, or as your profile picture. Remynders reads the one image you select.
• Run at startup — to restore your scheduled reminders after a restart.
• Vibration — so a reminder can be felt.

What we do not do

• No advertising, and no advertising identifiers.
• No analytics or tracking SDKs.
• No selling or sharing of personal information.
• No accounts, no sign-up, no email address required.
• No profile built about you.

Keeping and deleting your information

Your vault lives on your phone and is deleted when you uninstall the app or clear its data. Export a copy first if you want to keep it.

Reminder timings on our server are removed once they have been delivered. Push tokens are removed when they stop being valid or after a long period of inactivity. If you want your push token deleted sooner, email us and we will remove it.

Children

Remynders is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top will change with it, and material changes will be noted in the app.
